The chiller at Atlantis Elementary School failed and was replaced in summer 2015 as an out-of-sequence, contingency project. The fire alarm and intercom systems are failing and will be bundled with the current educational technology project.
The balance of the facility renewal project at Atlantis is scheduled for the fourth year of the sales surtax program.

A design build contract with Heard Construction, Inc. was approved by the School Board on October 27, 2015 for the educational technology project. The scope of work includes preconstruction design services for structured cabling, student station power/technology HVAC, fire alarm and intercom renewal.

For the chiller replacement project, Project Management staff solicited bids from the District's continuing services contract for HVAC mechanical services. Schwenn Services was recommended as the lowest responsive and responsible bidder.
Heard Construction, Inc. was selected as the design builder under their continuing services contract with the District.
The design for the educational technology project will be preformed by Premier Engineering as a subcontractor to Heard Construction, Inc. Project Management staff prepared the Design Criteria Package.
